Set to launch on February 27, 2026, the game promises to uncover a “hidden truth” behind the infamous Raccoon City outbreak. The story follows FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, who begins investigating a mysterious death in an abandoned hotel—coincidentally the same location where her mother, Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak, died years earlier.
The game's official synopsis hints that Grace’s investigation will unravel unknown secrets related to the Raccoon City disaster, which fans previously believed to be fully explained by Umbrella Corporation's actions. Despite the city’s destruction in earlier games, Resident Evil Requiem revisits Raccoon City in a decayed, ruined state, reintroducing familiar yet hauntingly changed locations like the Raccoon City Police Department, now reduced to rubble. The setting promises both nostalgia and fresh horror elements for long-time players.
While Capcom has confirmed Grace as a playable protagonist, insider reports suggest that fan-favorite Leon S. Kennedy may also appear.
