Nintendo Switch 2 owners eager to play Infinity Nikki on the new console may have to remain patient, as developer and publisher Infold Games has confirmed that a port is not currently in development. Although Infold is interested in expanding to new platforms in the future, technical and development-related challenges are currently preventing a Switch 2 release. For now, the game remains exclusive to PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile, where it launched in December 2024 following massive global anticipation and over 30 million pre-registrations.
Despite growing demand, Infold Games has stated that its current priority is to enhance the gameplay experience on existing platforms before considering any expansions. In an interview, a company representative emphasized that platform diversification is part of their long-term strategy, but only after they address existing content and performance issues. The company recently faced backlash over Infinity Nikki Version 1.5, which introduced unpopular gacha mechanics that made acquiring in-game outfits more costly and time-consuming, prompting a player-led boycott that was rebranded online as a "girlcott" to bypass censorship.
In addition to monetization criticism, Infold is dealing with several technical problems that may take precedence over any new console ports. Players have reported serious bugs, including game-launch failures on Windows 11, missing in-game currency, and unfinished map areas. These issues suggest that Infold Games has substantial work to do in stabilizing Infinity Nikki before it can realistically expand to platforms like the Switch 2, though a future release remains within the realm of possibility.
