Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced Tamagotchi Plaza, a new shop simulation game bringing back classic and new characters from the Tamagotchi series. Set to launch on June 27, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch, this game marks the return of the Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series, which hasn’t seen a new entry since 2008. Originally popular on the Nintendo DS, this spin-off shifts away from pet care and focuses on managing shops in a lively Tamagotchi town.
In Tamagotchi Plaza, players take on the role of shopkeepers in Tamahiko Town, helping Prince Tamahiko revitalize the area before the Tamagotchi Fest. The game features 12 different shops, such as a dental clinic and eyewear store, each with relaxing mini-games. Players must satisfy over 100 Tamagotchi customers, including fan-favorites Mametchi, Kuchipatchi, and Memetchi, while also meeting a brand-new Tamagotchi exclusive to the game. The game will also include offline two-player co-op, allowing friends to collaborate or compete in mini-games.
Tamagotchi Plaza will feature linking compatibility with Tamagotchi Uni, a recent toy release, unlocking special items and events in the game. However, since Tamagotchi Uni isn't available worldwide, some players may miss out on these extras. The March 27 Nintendo Direct also brought other exciting announcements, including the unexpected return of Tomodachi Life, set to launch in 2026. With months to go before release, more details about Tamagotchi Plaza are expected soon.
