Split Fiction Has Gone Gold
Published 3 Feb 2025
Hazelight Studios' highly anticipated co-op action-adventure game, Split Fiction, has officially gone gold, signaling that the core development is complete ahead of its March 6 release. This milestone comes shortly after the release of a new co-op gameplay trailer, which has further fueled excitement among fans. Split Fiction was first unveiled during The Game Awards 2024 and has since become one of the most talked-about titles of 2025.

Developed by the creators of It Takes Two, Split Fiction follows a similar split-screen co-op gameplay style, where two characters embark on an adventurous journey together. Game director Josef Fares announced on January 27 that the game had reached gold status, reassuring players that it's on track for its scheduled launch. Going gold means that the main development phase is complete, with the team now focusing on final polish and bug fixes. This suggests a smooth road to release, barring any unforeseen delays.

With the success of It Takes Two, expectations for Split Fiction are high, and the latest trailer showcases impressive visuals, action-packed combat, and diverse environments blending sci-fi and fantasy elements. The game promises an engaging main storyline, side quests, and dynamic transformations, further pushing Hazelight’s signature cooperative gameplay to new heights. As the launch date approaches, fans eagerly await Split Fiction’s debut on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
