Dragon's Dogma 2 is set to run at a frame rate of "around or higher than 30 FPS" on consoles, with no option for a performance mode. Despite earlier speculation and assurances from the game's director, Hideaki Itsuno, that the frame rate would be uncapped, recent clarification indicates otherwise. Itsuno confirmed in an interview with Game Informer that the game will indeed be capped at around 30fps on consoles, disappointing those who were hoping for smoother gameplay at 60fps.

Furthermore, Dragon's Dogma 2 will only offer one graphics mode, without any additional options for improving performance. This decision means players won't have the choice to sacrifice visual fidelity for better frame rates, unlike some other games in the current generation. With an uncapped frame rate hovering around 30fps, there's concern among enthusiasts about potential performance issues during intense gameplay moments, as fluctuating frame rates can lead to instability.

However, players with powerful PCs may have the opportunity to tweak settings and achieve a more stable 60fps experience. While this is a consolation for PC gamers, console players will have to settle for the capped frame rate. Despite the disappointment surrounding the frame rate limitations, at least there's clarity now regarding what players can expect from Dragon's Dogma 2 in terms of performance.
