Yoshimi Yasuda, the producer of Dragami Games, has disclosed a significant addition to the forthcoming Lollipop Chainsaw: RePOP remaster. The key feature unveiled is the option for players to select between the English and Japanese dub voices. Initially announced as a remake but later scaled back to a remaster, Lollipop Chainsaw: RePOP is based on the original 2012 game for PS3 and Xbox 360. Despite a delay from its planned 2023 release, Yasuda has maintained communication with fans through Twitter, providing updates on the game's development, including insights into voice acting.
In the original release of Lollipop Chainsaw, the English dub boasted a lineup of renowned actors such as Tara Strong, Sean Gunn, and Michael Rooker. Conversely, the Japanese dub was absent from the initial English release, featuring a distinct cast, including two different actresses for the protagonist, Juliet Starling, depending on the platform version. With the RePOP remaster, Yasuda assures fans that they can experience the game with both the original English and Japanese voice casts, with the added flexibility of switching between the two tracks during gameplay.
