Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida recently shared encouraging news for fans eagerly awaiting the game's PC port, revealing that the development is in its "final optimization stages." He hinted at a potential demo release prior to the game's official launch, although specific dates for either were not disclosed. Meanwhile, Square Enix and Creative Business Unit 3 are gearing up for the release of The Rising Tide, the second expansion for Final Fantasy 16. Set to launch in the spring, this expansion promises to delve into the backstory of Leviathan the Lost, an Eikon absent from the base game, leading up to a climactic encounter with Ifrit.

Yoshida also hinted at the demanding specifications required for the PC version, mentioning the necessity of a solid-state drive (SSD). While he assured fans that the wait for the PC release wouldn't be excessively long, exact details regarding the launch timeline remain under wraps. Fans can anticipate further updates on Final Fantasy 16, including its PC port, during Yoshida's appearance alongside other key figures at PAX East, where The Rising Tide and other upcoming releases will be discussed. With both The Rising Tide expansion and the PC port on the horizon, 2024 holds much promise for Final Fantasy enthusiasts.
