Rumor: Upcoming Game from Yakuza Studio May Include a Surprise Celebrity Cameo
Published 18 Dec 2024
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the developer behind the Yakuza franchise, unveiled Project Century at The Game Awards 2024. While details are scarce, the game appears to be a third-person brawler set in Japan during 1915. Fans are speculating whether the game will be a new installment in the Yakuza series or an entirely new IP.

A recent hint suggests that hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg might appear in Project Century. RGG Studio shared a photo of Snoop wearing the same jacket as the game’s protagonist, and director Masayoshi Yokoyama mirrored the pose in another post, sparking speculation. However, this could simply be a playful gesture, as Snoop Dogg was at The Game Awards to perform and present an award.

RGG Studio is known for including celebrity appearances in its games, such as wrestlers Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kenny Omega. With Snoop Dogg’s history of collaborating with video games and appearing in WWE events, it wouldn’t be surprising if he featured in Project Century, continuing the studio's trend of incorporating notable guest stars.
