Borderlands 4 Brings Exciting Updates for Co-Op Fans
Published 18 Dec 2024
Borderlands 4, launching in 2025, has confirmed the return of split-screen co-op, a beloved feature in the franchise since its debut in 2009. With many modern games dropping couch co-op options, fans were concerned Borderlands 4 might follow suit. Thankfully, Gearbox has assured players that two-player split-screen and up to four-player online co-op will be supported, continuing the series’ strong tradition of multiplayer gameplay.

While the announcement is exciting, questions remain about how well the split-screen mode will function at launch. Previous titles, like Borderlands 3, faced technical issues with split-screen performance, raising concerns about its stability in Borderlands 4. However, fans are optimistic and grateful for the inclusion of split-screen, as even a slightly flawed version is preferable to its absence, which has become common in other major titles.

The latest trailer has also provided a glimpse of Borderlands 4's new features, such as a grappling hook, improved vehicle summoning, and fewer loading screens, enhancing exploration. Fan reactions to the new Vault Hunters are mixed, but excitement remains high. The game’s villain, The Timekeeper, has been introduced, though further details are still under wraps, leaving fans eager to see how he will compare to previous antagonists.
